With the start of each new year I try to get myself organised, and with my job this means getting all the canine events in the diary! Like and dog mad human, who can beat a day out purely dedicated to dogs?
I thought I would share our favourite events and the ones we hope to attend with you – Maybe you can pop them in the diary too!
11th February 2018 – All Dogs Matter Valentines Dog Walk, Hampstead
Why not start the year off with a Valentines dog walk, Every year All Dogs Matter hold a dog walk at Hampstead Heath, to help those dogs looking for their forever homes – £5 per dog, money goes to a great cause.
8th-11th March 2018 – Crufts, The NEC, Birmingham
Of course the “worlds biggest dog show” is a must for any dog lover – especially blogger! Alfie and will usually spend a couple of days at the event, hanging out with our dog pals, meeting brands and of course shopping… He is a spoilt princess after all.
Crufts is a show for all the family, although your pooches must stay at home it is the perfect chance for you to meet a variety of breeds and watch some awesome displays!
17th & 18th March – West Of England Game Fair, Royal Bath and West
14th & 15th April 2018 – All About Dogs Show, Newbury
This will be our first year attending All About Dogs, I’ve heard great feedback from our dog friends, so this year a visit is a must! With a whole selection of “have a go” events, a fun dog show it sounds a great family day out.
There are a number of All About Dogs Show throughout the summer, have a look to find an event closest to you – We’ll be at Newbury!
28th April 2018 – The Great British Dog Walk, Windsor Great Park
Enjoy a scenic dog walk across Windsor Great Park to raise vital funds for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. There are two routes for you to walk, as well as some great stalls for you to check out after.

Another first for us this year! Paws in the Park has been said to be the UK’s Largest outdoor show, so i am super excited to check this one out with Alfie. Bring your dogs, have a go at some exciting new activities, and enjoy a day filled with dogs!

30th June & 1st July – Paws In The Park Summer Show, Essex
7th & 8th July – DogFest, Hertfordshire
27th – 29th July – The Game Fair, Warwickshire
The Game Fair is by far my favourite event of the year, perfect for the country bumpkin The Game Fair celebrates all things country, gun dogs, shooting, fishing you name it.
It’s always the best day out! Especially in the gun dog sections, with training demonstrations, scurries and Gun Dog Trials.
1st September – Pupaid, Primrose Hill
Pupaid has been in the diary ever since I started the blog but I am yet to actually get along to enjoy the event. The event itself is all about raising awareness about the UK’s cruel puppy farming trade.
The show is always a huge success with a whole array of trade stands, fresh food and music – you might even spot a celebrity or two!
15th & 16th September – Paws In The Park Autumn Show, Kent
15th & 16th September – Midlands Game & Country Fair, Shropshire
21st & 22nd October 2018, Discover Dogs, ExCeL London
I’m still yet to attend a Discover Dogs events, I can never seem to get that weekend free for some reason… Hopefully this year will be the year! Discover Dogs is very similar to Crufts, without the showing. The event is held by The Kennel Club, it is the perfect opportunity for you and your family to learn all about a whole range of dogs.
There is some great shopping to be done, so be sure to save up before hand.
3rd & 4th November 2018, The National Pet Show, NEC Birmingham
The National Pet Show is an event for all pet lovers, from dogs to cats to reptiles – You can see a whole variety of animals, Watch some exciting demonstrations and shop.
Another one where your animals must stay at home, but it is a nice small event, so you will see it all in one day… Who knows, you might be inspired to get a new pet!
I am so excited for the year ahead, hopefully we will see some of you at the event throughout the year!
