Siccaro, WetDog Drying Robe

By now you all well know that a wet muddy spaniel is obstacle when owning an Alf. I am always on the look out for ways to make this a little easier. Much to my excitement we were recently contacted by Siccaro, to see if we would be interested in putting their WetDog Drying Robe to the test.

I know you are all probably thinking, Emma you are testing another dog robe? But when you end up using them after every walk, it really is an essential. I actually have a slight hoarding problem when it comes to this… They have their own cupboard, right next to his pressure washer!

First Impressions

Straight away I could tell that this was a high end drying robe. Of course, only the best for my Alf! The drying coat comes in a fabulous carry bag. Which is easy to pop on your shoulder or store in the car so you are prepared for when the water attacks! The Dog Robe it’s self was like something I had never seen or felt before. The fabric was soft but sturdy and felt like it could absorb a fair amount of water. It did feel like a luxury product.

Alfie took a little more convincing. It was definitely something he needed to get used to having on – Most dog’s will probably not even notice the difference… Alf is just a little special. A few laps of the house doing that weird stiff walk they do and he was trotting along nicely.

How to put the robe on

The WetDog Drying Robe is designed so that is is easy to put on to you dog… Which means there will be no faff for you and gone are those battles where you need to put your dogs legs through the holes.

So, to put the coat on you start by sliding the dog robe over your dogs head. Then carefully pull the robe into position. There is a zip along the side of the hood, do this up to keep those soggy spaniel ears under… This will contain them while they dry, you dog will eventually shake them out. Assisting in the drying at the same time.

Already I had noticed that the lining on the WetDog Robe makes it so it can slide over smoothly. So it doesn’t catch on your dogs fur… Which is handy when your dog is a giant wimp like Alf. All I have to do is slightly tug an ear and he will go off in some princess rage.

Now, you need to fasten the piece that goes under their stomach. This will not only dry their stomach, which lets face it, is usually one of the dirtiest places, it will also secure the WetDog Robe so your dog can still zoom about the house.

Siccaro have a unique way of attaching the strap. They have used a clip system that would be light weight and easy to use. This way anyone can apply the robe, it is easy simple enough to do one handed or with your gloves on… Perfect for those winter months.

Nearly there, you just need to button up the leg straps. These are flexible elastic straps which still allow movement, which is essential really. You do not need a restrictive drying coat, it needs to be something that you dog is comfortable in.

This is the first time I have seen leg straps on a drying coat. You see them on horse rugs all the time, I do think it is a handy addition. By using these leg straps it will ensure the WetDog Drying Robe Stays close to your dog. Giving you maximum drying.

What makes The Original Siccaro WetDog Drying Robe so special?

For me it has to be their unique fabric. It is in fact a specialised blend of two fabrics, which they have had developed especially for their great absorbent properties. They use a special viscose that can absorb up to 11 times it’s own weight in water! – Definitely what you will need in a drying coat.

Siccaro have combined this with organic bamboo fleece. This makes the drying coat incredibly robust, so it can withstand the viragos moment of any dog. The bamboo also has natural cleaning and antibacterial properties. So the two fabrics fused together will stop the WetDog rose from collecting bad owners… No more wet dog smell!

Is it worth the money?

The Original Siccaro Wetdog Drying Robe does come at the price, but if you are looking to spend that little bit more it is a great investment. The Robe prices varies depending on the size, From £85-£139. Alfie wears a medium, just remember he is very small for his breed. I have had a great result from using it, and Alfie is enjoying getting nice and cosy after his walks. It is going to be perfect for his winter walks, or after a day out beating.

So what do you think? Will you be making the investment? The Original Siccaro WetDog Drying Robe is available in a whole array of colours and sizes.

A huge thank you to Siccaro for collaboration with us on this blog post, we had great fun testing it out.
