The Sea is Calling…

As the owner of a style conscious canine, it really is important to me that Alfie looks his best. It’s quite funny how times have changed… Up until I started the blog Alfie only had slip leads, of course in various shades of olive-green, but now I love to plan what he is wearing to match any occasion. Over the next year I hope to do a selection of look books, showing you our collection and how we choose to style them.Starting off with our recent trip to Salcombe, as we were only there for the weekend I wanted to pick three of our seaside essentials – One for the beach, one for exploring and then something a little luxurious for those moments when it is important to look smart.

Lets start with the beach. It is Alfie’s favourite part of the holiday after all! For me it is essential to find a product that is a good quality and durable, it needs to be able to withstand a beach trip with Alfie. He insists on getting as wet and sandy as physically possible – He will have a good roll too, just to make sure!

For this I packed a new addition to Alfie’s wardrobe – a stunning collar by Pines and Bones… Made from natural cotton rope they really can cope with all Alfie throws at it. You wouldn’t have heard of this fabulous company just yet as they are just about to launch but they are definitely one to watch – This is a very exciting new venture for “@max_and_his_pack” one of my favourite Instagram accounts!

With these sets you can choose a colour hemp for that extra bit of detail, of course I went for a navy as it is definitely our seaside set. I also included my matching Pines and Bones name tag to it, this has been hand stamped with Alfie’s details, and a cute little anchor to really give a nautical feel.

Keeping with the nautical colours [of course] I packed this beautiful Navy Collar by Dogatella – I always pack a luxurious leather set for our travels, perfect for those meals out or for strolling down Salcombe’s dreamy pastel streets.

I’m in love with this set, it is just a classic piece that can be worn anywhere. Made from the soft leather with detailed stitching combined with its gold plated metal work it is a beauty! This is definitely one of my favourite pieces, one that I save for best.

I was kindly gifted this set by the lovely Bahar, creator of Dogatella. It comes with a beautiful matching lead and a bracelet for the human – Let’s face it, some may see it as excessive but I always like to match even if it is something simple like colour coordination or taking it a little further with a matching bracelet!

This is a predictable choice for me, no matter where I travel I always pack a Bib & Tucker neckerchief. As you will see over the next coming months there really is a neckerchief for every occasion… Alfie is a dapper dog after all!

This trip we packed our nautical neckerchief. A beautiful light blue with the cutest detailing this is definitely our favourite. Sadly they no longer stock this print due to their popularity! But I am sure if you take a look at the Bib & Tucker website there will be one that takes your fancy [I love the denim spot, it would look fabulous at the beach.]

We have been brand ambassadors from the very start of our blogging days, I just adore being able to work so closely with such a wonderful brand.

I hope you have enjoyed a little insight to Alfie’s collection, a bit different to our usual posts but I have loved sharing our favourite pieces – He is a very lucky boy!

What’s your dogs favourite seaside accessory?
