The Snow Spaniel

A little bit of an impromptu blog post today, I had intended to share with you all about our recent trip to Sussex [It was wonderful, I’ll tell you more on Tuesday], but whilst we were down there we were treated to some real snow! Of course I had to get the camera out – Come on a photogenic spaniel and a beautiful covering of snow, who could resist?

Alfie [Surprise surprise] loves the snow. Well when I say he loves it, he actually loves to run around eating as much of it as possible; if you are not throwing it at him he will run around with his mouth open scooping it up like a doggie snow plough! He is such a loon! Trying to get him to stand still for a photo was definitely a challenge, far too excited… Luckily I’ll settle for the distracted spaniel pose!

I just love watching him goof about, he gets these wide golden eyes and a giant grin, definitely having the time of his life. I cannot remember the last time he saw snow like this, possibly back when he was a tiny puppy.

We spent some time playing fetch with snowballs and building a little snowman, before we had to drag him back to the car to thaw out…

Have you had some snow? I’d love to see your photos.

Ah Louise we had such fun – Although you couldn’t have it too deep or else little Rosie would be swimming in it! She’s far too cute.

[…] Of course it was a full breakfast all round, with coffee, tea and an extra sausage for Alfie. As predicted it was just delicious… There was also a great continental buffet to choose from, I went for some fruit and orange juice. It was the perfect way to set us up for a morning playing in the snow. [You can see a whole blog post on that here] […]
