Last month, James and I took a trip in to Bath for the day – With Alf in tow of course! I had never been to Bath, only driven through and swooned over the beautiful streets, designer shops and landmarks so I was looking forward to taking a look around.I will admit that naively I didn’t think that Bath would be very busy [Come on Emma, Bath on a bank holiday? of course it will be busy]. So upon arrival I was slightly overwhelmed by the swarms of people, I was questioning why I had brought Alfie along for the day! But like the calm wonderful boy he is he took it all in his stride! We took a wander around taking in all the surroundings, a trip to the Cathedral was essential but I really was just happy to take in the views.
By now it was definitely time to grab some lunch, I had found a wonderful looking bar called the Bath Brew House that looked perfect, they took so much pride about being dog friendly that we just had to try it out. There was fantastic atmosphere to the place, and the interior was very “cool” It would be the perfect local pub for you to head down grab a few drinks with friends and sit back and enjoy the live music.
We were instantly drawn to the bright and colourful beer garden, with the sun shining down the weather was too good to sit indoors. I adored the garden, with bright and edgy furniture, a ping-pong table and flowers everywhere you really could spend the whole afternoon there.
We sat out and enjoyed the sunshine, the beer and Pimms were an added bonus… Alf wasn’t too sure if he liked the beer [But he had to try it a couple of times just to make sure! haha!]. We decided to keep it simple food wise, James opted for the “Bath House Burger” and I went for the Spit Roast Chicken.
I was really keen to visit Pug & Puffin, I had seen them pop up across social media and I just couldn’t resist a nosey – little boutiques are my favourite!
Oh I wasn’t disappointed, filled with a wide array of goodies for both human and hound… A great selection of well-known brands and their own products, I have a wish list as long as my arm! [Still on a damn spending ban, who knew being an adult was so difficult!] But I loved browsing!
We were welcomed by in-house pug Noah.. What a cutie!
I’m already looking forward to our next visit, especially with Christmas on the way! – I hear they do the best Christmas Market!
Where is your favourite place to go in Bath?
