Sötnos Dogwear

I was recently contacted by Sötnos Dogwear to team up and photograph their products for their spring advertising campaign. Of course we jumped at the chance! As a photographer January is always such a quiet month, if you are not fighting those January blues, trudging through those muddy fields you are battling the weather.. It was great to take on a new project, especially one that involved Alfie and some fabulous dog wear!

For those who haven’t heard of Sötnos, they specialise in dog wear influenced by the Scandinavian outdoor life style.. Now outdoor lifestyle is definitely right up our street so I was excited to put the clothing through its paces, if it is Alf-proof then it must be good – as he is a muddy horror at times!

The Cable Knit
“The Sötnos Cable Knit jumper is a classic item that looks great on all dogs. It’s chunky, cable knit design adds superior warmth as it is made using a high-quality knitted material which will keep your dog warm when the temperature begins to drop.”

We just couldn’t resist taking this one out to enjoy the tiny sprinkle of snow we received a couple of weeks back, I will admit I was very surprised when I first got my hands on the jumper and felt the quality, I was expecting it to feel like the usual “dog jumpers” but it was not! The jumper was lovely and thick, something you would expect when you’re buying jumpers for yourself, there is no doubt about it that it will keep your dog walk on those crisp mornings. I really felt that the colour complimented Alf well, it could be your dogs staple winter jumper as it will flatter all dogs – Whatever the breed, colour or size.

The Sunshine Raincoat.
“The Sunshine Raincoat is a statement piece for your dog to stand out from the crowd. This coat was designed to be practical, efficient yet stylish and affordable. This coat features a water-proof outer shell in a sunshine yellow hue, designed to stop your dog from getting wet and cold in challenging weather conditions.”

DSC_2492-11Well what can you not say about this coat, I will admit that it has always been a personal favourite of mine.. I used to see it dotted over Twitter, I would instantly imagine just how cute Alf will look – I wasn’t wrong! Once again the quality really is exquisite, the waterproof shell is lovely and soft, you also get the added bonus of a detachable fleece lining, perfect to keep your dog dry in a shower, or warm and dry over the winter months.. This also could possible be my new favourite colour on Alf, I’m already looking for other products I can add into out collection.. goodbye olive green, hello yellow!!

The Fairisle Sweater.
“The Fairisle is an iconic, stylish and fashionable sweater which looks great on any dog that requires an extra layer for added warmth in colder conditions. This sweater was inspired by the classic fairisle jumper that holds a classic, timeless design that has stood the test of time.”

It is a well known fact that red is the perfect colour for a liver and white spaniel, It has been our go to colour for all our past spaniels, they always look so dashing.. The Fairisle Sweater was no exception, I absolutely adore this jumper on Alfie, and he also loves wearing it! Occasionally he will bring it over expecting me to put it on. The knit is lovely and soft, but also light! It’s perfect to wear anywhere!

The Sporty Coat.
“The Sporty Coat is a staple item for your dogs wardrobe. This coat is fashionable yet functional with its shower-proof outer layer which is designed to prevent your dog from getting wet and cold in challenging weather conditions. It also features a fleece lining on the inside for added warmth in winter months.”

Now, Alfie really did put the Sporty coat through its paces.. So much so that at one point he caught onto a scent of a deer and zoomed off on the trail, leaving me stood in the middle of the woods mortified begging that the coat will come back in one piece.. But to my surprise, it lived! I couldn’t even tell that it had just been dragged through any patch of brambles or stale puddles Alf could find! I love the reflective detailing, perfect for those late night walks, there is also the softest fur lining to keep your pooch nice and toasty!

The Stripe Sweater.
“The Stripe Sweater’s refreshing and modern design is on trend and looks great on any dog that requires an extra layer for added warmth in colder conditions. When the temperature drops, cosy up in the Stripe Sweater and stand out from the crowd in this modern classic.”

This jumper is the same material as the Fairisle, another soft cosy knit perfect for keeping your dog warm whatever the occasion. The bright stripes give your pooch a stylish edge.. Definitely one to make all the other dogs jealous!

The Quilted Jacket.
“The Sötnos Quilted Jacket is an elegant, premium item for your dog. Lined with a luxurious sherpa fabric, this shower-proof jacket will prevent your dog from getting cold in the winter months. The coat features a small slit over the neckline so leads can be taken on and off without the need to remove the coat.”

This is one that Alf will have to save for special occasions… don’t tell him but it is much to fancy for him to get his grubby paws on too often! Honestly to touch you will mistake it for one of your own coats, it really is luxurious. The outer layer has the lovely thick quilted pattern, and the underside is lined with the most wonderful fabric.. Your dog will feel like royalty walking about town.

We had such fun working on this project, Alfie really has taken to the “modelling” well.. If you are looking for stylish affordable dog clothes, look no further!
