A frosty start

This weekend was an on call weekend, meaning that our regular very relaxed morning routine had gone out the window.. James was up at the crack of dawn to operate on a puppy, leaving me and Alfie to spend the morning snuggled up on the sofa, but Saturday the crisp air hit us and I just could not resist getting my wellies on and taking Alf out on an adventure!

I don’t know about you, but there is nothing I love more than a crisp frosty walk in the morning. There seems to have been a lack of frost this winter, but with the temperatures finally starting to drop it was a very pleasant surprise to wake up to. We are still very new to the village so have been sticking to our usual “well known” walk, but with the scenery so beautiful I decided to take Alf to discover the lakes – All the dog walkers have been recommending it to me, so it was about time I check it out, with the camera of course!

There really is something magical about a frosty morning, it is almost like the guarantee of a good day, with the sun rise peaking through the trees we set off to discover what the lakes have to offer! It wasn’t quite like the walks we are used to, the route was short  but sweet, there were some amazing diving spots.. I am very excited to take Alf once it warms up a bit, but it was a welcome change to the muddy walks we’ve been having recently.

Alfie loved the new smells, that combined with the frost really put a spring in his step.. cue Alfie running around like a complete loon, but stopping occasionally for the odd spot of posing, I think he was embracing the fact he was a sparkling white, he just stood there with his ears blowing in the breeze. I may be biased but he’s looking quite majestic. It still amazes me just how much he enjoys having his photo taken!

Did you get much snow over the weekend? We would love to see your snowy photos!

Gorgeous photos Emma, Alfie is so gorgeous.
We sadly didn't get any snow here, Sev still has't seen proper snow, I can't wait until it happens- we'll be out there with the camera for sure.
Have you moved recently? The photos certainly look gorgeous, I love finding new places to visit and walk.
I'm presuming James is a Vet?
[all the questions, sorry for the longest comment! I've just started following on Bloglovin now, so I can keep more up to date/more comments for you- so lucky! ha] xx

Hello Steph, Thank you so much.. He really does like to pose!
We only got a little sprinkle, nothing much to get excited about, I can't wait to see you snowy Sev & Lily photos.
I haven't moved but my boyfriend has, it's a short term arrangement above his vet practice as he is hoping to go off and do an internship in June. (Yes he is a vet)I'm currently living half with him and half in my family home.
Don't apologise for the questions, it's absolutely fine xx

    Hello Emma,
You can really see that Alfie loves to pose for the camera, it's gorgeous to see your photos….I do wonder how many you have to take to get the beautiful ones that you share? I can hardly get Luna to stay still long enough even when I am ready and waiting lol

Finding new routes to walk is always exciting :0)

I always look forward to seeing your photos :0)

    Hello Jutta,

Thank you very much.. I must admit we have managed to get the photos shoot process down to a fine art now, he knows exactly what I am asking of him, I think a lot of it is down to the training I put in before our sessions (I actually am in the process of sharing a photography series, here is out first post: We take about 50-100 photos each time we head out, there are a lot of outtakes or very similar shots.. I then go through them and edit the ones that catch my eye!
