It is a well known fact that Alfie is a keen mud monster, in fact I don’t think there has been a day this autumn/winter where he hasn’t covered himself in mud. I constantly get asked “how do you cope with all the mud?”.. Well I am going to let you into a little secret (well, okay not so secret as I scream my love for this product from the rooftops!) The Equafleece!!
I know you are probably looking at him and thinking to your self.. “Yes ok, a dog in a jumper” I will admit I thought that too, I’m not one for dressing up a dog – especially not a working dog, but I can honestly say this product is a life saver all year round. It gives us the freedom to go out on our walk and have a muddy good time, without worrying about the state of the car, furniture or giving him the dreaded bath! Once we have finished our walk I fleece up, and pop the dogs in the boot. I will then leave them in the jumpers until they have dried and then brush the mud off.. Alfie is so used to this routine now that he will let me use the soft house broom to sweep him (the moment I get to broom out he has rolled on to his back waiting to have his belly swept.. even when he’s clean!)
Without sounding too much like a crazy dog mother, I will always have one folded up in my handbag, You just never now when the mud/water will attack! It’s a very handy thing to have, especially if you are like me and take your dog everywhere.. It also means that we can head to the pub for a dinner after a nice long dog walk without worrying about keeping him clean. The only time the Equafleece doesn’t fully save me from them mud monster is if he’s stinky.. Then a bath is definitely in order!
So how does it work? the Equafleece is a “Warm, water repellent, breathable fleece for dogs”. The fleece can be used to prevent your dog from getting wet on rainy days. Your dogs body heat and the fleece combines creating a waterproof layer. It also has the same effect when drying your dog. The fleece will absorb the dampness with your dogs body heat pushing the moisture away. They have a variety of styles available, but I tend to go for the jumper style, just because I feel it is best suited to Alf. Although the full body suits do look absolutely adorable!
So there it is, how I cope with owning a mucky Alf! I just wanted to clarify that this is not a sponsored post. I love this product rather a lot and if it can make your life just a little easier then its worth sharing.
